Company-wide hardware upgrade

As a part of our general service improvement mentality we will be upgrading all our current server hardware. Currently, most of our servers are dual processor Intel Xeons 3.2 Ghz. This is OK, but this is very 1999. These days everyone is going multi-core and so are we. We will be upgrading to dual processor Quad Core Xeons 5420 2.5 Ghz. This means 8 cores and 20 Ghz of combined CPU power per server. Quite an improvement! In addition to this, the new servers will feature a RAID 5 array with increased total disk space and reliability.

To accomplish this upgrade, we will setup the new servers and migrate all accounts to them. The whole process will take several weeks, because we want to take it slow and minimize any potential risks. You will receive a separate (more targeted) notification from us when the migration process begins for your website and also, when it is completed.

This whole thing is great news for our company, because it will allow us to significantly improve the performance of our hardware. (Which is the backbone of any webhost.) Your websites will load faster and you are sure to notice the difference.
